Will you be the Rock-Paper-Scissor champion of your graduating class? Purchase a $1 bead before or after school to support Dance Marathon on the Island. Find a classmate with the same color bead and challenge them. Winner takes one necklace! Competition ends April 17th. Will you have the most necklaces?
Prom guest forms are now available at the bookstore window. Completed forms are due back in the main office for approval BEFORE Friday, April 24.

Are you a student interested in travel and adventure? Want to try whitewater rafting, ziplining, and kayaking near a volcano? Join us on a trip to Costa Rica during June of 2027. This trip is open to any current 8th through 11th grade student. There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, April 7th at 5:30 in room 124 at Rock Island High School for those not already signed up. Seniors planning to go to BHC next year. BHC is hosting Free Application Week April 6-12 with the code BEBRAVE26. If you need assistance with this task, a BHC rep will be here with the counselors to assist students in completing their application on Tuesday, April 7th from 9-2:30. You will need your Social Security number to complete application.

Culture Club is meeting tomorrow after school in room 119 to continue planning for Culture Fest. We are just over a month away from the big event. All are welcome!

“Wake up, Mr. West!” ☀️This morning’s inservice kicked off with an energizing message from renowned guest speaker Mr. Damon West, setting the stage for a day of meaningful breakout sessions and professional learning.
A huge thank you to Mr. West for the powerful reminder to be a coffee bean – when the pressure is on, we have the ability to transform the environment around us. That message couldn’t come at a better time!

Culture Club is gearing up for our 4th Annual Culture Fest! Last year, over 1,000 attendees came together to celebrate the diversity that makes our school and community so special.
This year’s event will take place on Monday, May 18th, from 5–7:30 PM at RIHS. The theme is “Play the Game, Live the Culture,” in anticipation of the World Cup coming to North America this summer. ⚽

A 1915 graduate of Rock Island High School, Butler was a standout multi-sport athlete who set two world records in track, became the school’s first Black basketball player, won gold in the long jump at the Inter-Allied Games, competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics, and helped start the team that became the Harlem Globetrotters.
Come learn about one of Rocky’s most remarkable athletes and his lasting impact on sports history.
