Students who are taking the fan bus to Galesburg today. No backpacks or bags will be allowed on the bus. If you have one that you need to take home for the weekend you will be able to store it in the Athletic Office after school and pick it up on our return from Galesburg.

Next week is our final countdown to the 2025 Student Hunger Drive. We need the help of all students and staff to meet our goal of collecting just over 9,000 pounds of food for the community. We will have boxes at all entrances. Please help us fill the boxes!! On Monday, we are asking all students to bring in at least one box of pasta!

Attention all boys that are interested in playing basketball for the 2025-2026 season. We will be having a mandatory meeting on Monday, November 3rd at 3:30pm in the Fieldhouse. If you plan on playing basketball this year please be at this meeting to get important information and all of your questions answered. If you can’t make the meeting know that you must have an updated physical and be registered on snap to attend the tryout. No exceptions.

The girls' and boys' cross country teams competed in the Western Big Six Conference Meet this past Thursday. The girls' team finished in third place and were led by a first team all-conference finish by junior Lucy Mass and second team all-conference finishes by freshman Claire Gustafson and senior Ulana Richey. The boys finished fourth and were led by conference champion and meet MVP junior Elliot Batz and a second team all-conference finish by sophomore Nolan Jared. The Rocks will compete in the IHSA Plainfield Central 3A Regional this Saturday. Congratulations and good luck, Rocks!

Congratulations to the following RIHS Special Olympics Bowlers who participate in the Regional Tournament this week. Drew DeMarlie with a 2nd place finish Michah Hodgett with a 3rd place finish Austin Huff with a 4th place finish Trenton Prather with a 6th place finish And a special shout out to Izaak McMeans and David Pack-Lewis who both finished 1st in their divisions and will be representing us at this year's Sectional Tournament! They did an amazing job representing Rocky! Congratulations to all our bowlers!

The Rock Island High School Student Council officially kicked off its hunger drive on September 29, 2025, and will be collecting monetary donations and non-perishable food items through November 6, 2025. Please keep an eye out for donation opportunities throughout the community to support our scholars in their mission to fight hunger.
