Steven is a junior at Rock Island High School and a member of the Varsity Cross Country and Track teams. He is also involved in Gray Matters, Student Council, National Honor Society, and Silver Cord.
In this role, Steven looks forward to being a dedicated voice for the scholar body and representing the ideas and perspectives of his peers. He is excited to listen to and discuss the diverse ideas shared by his fellow scholars and help make their high school experience something special.

We recently visited the addition at Eugene Field Elementary and are excited to see the progress being made and the space that will soon serve our scholars.

If you bring in some feminine hygiene products to donate, you will be entered into a raffle to win a prize. Hope to see you all there!

We are kicking off our Every Voice Matters survey next week. We want to hear from all of our students. There are two ways to fill out the survey. Please look for the ballot box in the Library or the new link that will be on your chrome book homepage next week. There will be a designated period to fill out the survey. There will only be 3 questions and 1 last spot for you to tell us something you think we should know. We can’t wait to hear your ideas, thoughts and insight. Now is your chance to let your school’s staff know how you are doing or what is on your mind. Every Voice Matters and we want to hear yours.
Today, we remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders, heroes, and countless individuals who came together to help, serve, and rebuild in the days and years that followed.
This week, Superintendent Dr. Williams had the opportunity to deliver her annual State of the Schools address at a joint meeting of the Rock Island Rotary and Rock Island Kiwanis Club.

The safety and well-being of our student-athletes is our top priority. Due to the extreme temperatures forecasted for Friday, September 4, the freshman football game against Geneseo has been rescheduled.
Updated schedule:
Varsity: Friday, September 4 at 7:00 PM at Home — Game will proceed as scheduled
Freshman: Monday, September 7 at 11:00 AM at Geneseo
JV: Monday, September 7 at 1:00 PM at Geneseo
To clarify, there will be no freshman game this Friday night. The freshman game has been moved to Monday at 11:00 AM, with the JV game following at 1:00 PM. The varsity game will still take place this Friday at 7:00 PM at Rock Island.

Student parking tags ARE required to park in the student lot even if you are not painting your spot. Stop by the bookstore to pick up an application. The basic parking tags are no cost this year thanks to the Illinois Army National Guard. Be sure to get yours right away as enforcement will start after Labor Day. Staff, contact the bookstore if you still need your 2026-2027 tag. Tags need to be purchased no later than Sept. 18th….citations may be issued stating Sept. 21st for any student without a tag on their vehicle.
