Rock Island High School Counseling, Black Hawk College, and ISAC staff will be here to help families complete the 2026-27 FAFSA or Alternative Application for qualifying undocumented students.

The FAFSA is free and gives you access to the largest sources of financial aid to pay for college or career school. Both student and parent/contributor must have a Federal Student Aid ID before completing the FAFSA. 

To get the Federal Student Aid ID, make sure your accounts are created prior to the workshop. www.studentaid.gov/create-account

Both student and parent should have their:

  • Date of Birth

  • Social Security number or Permanent Resident Card

  • 2024 Federal tax return

  • 2024 W-2/1099 Forms

  • 2024 child support received

  • Current bank statement

  • Current net worth* of investment (excludes retirement)

  • Current net worth* of business or farm

  • Records of untaxed income
