Meet our new leaders:

Alyson BaldwinAlyson Baldwin

Dean, Washington Junior High School

Ms. Baldwin has over 16 years of experience in education, including nine years as a Paraprofessional and six years as a Special Education Teacher. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Special Education focus, along with a Master’s Degree in Administration. Trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, she has also been instrumental in leading teacher training initiatives as part of the leadership team. Ms. Baldwin is recognized for her passion and leadership, inspiring students and fostering professional growth among her staff. Her commitment goes beyond the classroom as she actively volunteers on committees and takes on coaching roles, exemplifying her dedication to the entire school community.


John CampbellJohn Campbell

Assistant Principal, Rock Island High School

Mr. Campbell brings 18 years of educational experience, including four years as an Assistant Principal, along with three years in law enforcement as a patrol deputy in Hillsborough County, Florida. He holds a master’s and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. Known for his strong instructional leadership, Mr. Campbell is dedicated to driving academic achievement and fostering a positive school culture. He takes a hands-on approach to scholar supervision and supports teachers in both academic and classroom management strategies.


Kler SoeKler Soe

Director of Communications, Rock Island-Milan School District 41

Ms. Soe is a skilled communications specialist with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communications. Since joining our team as Communications Coordinator in December 2024, Ms. Soe has led multiple projects, contributed to our new website, enhanced our social media presence, and helped streamline our district brand. Now advancing into her new role as Director of Communications, Ms. Soe continues to leverage her journalistic expertise and strong digital skills to guide the department with creativity and impactful leadership. She is widely recognized as a proactive problem solver who consistently applies her communication and journalistic talents to benefit everyone around her.


Kevin TurnerKevin Turner

Principal, Earl Hanson Elementary School

Mr. Turner brings six years of administrative expertise, with experience as an Elementary School Principal and a teaching and Learning (TLCS) Innovator. He earned a Master of Arts in Education, specializing in Principalship, from the University of Northern Iowa. Known for his growth mindset and collaborative approach, Mr. Turner is widely recognized for his data-driven leadership and deep commitment to scholarly success. He is praised for his genuine ability to build strong relationships with scholars, staff, and the broader community.


Dr. UlrichDr. Patricia Ulrich

Principal, Rock Island High School

Dr. Ulrich has a deep commitment to scholar success and instructional excellence in her role as principal of Rock Island High School. With extensive experience as a Secondary School Principal and Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Educational Programming, she has led transformative work in the curriculum department, professional learning, and equity-centered education. A passionate advocate for innovation and inclusivity, Dr. Ulrich has championed initiatives that integrate technology and foster culturally responsive teaching.


Tom VTom VanBlaricome

Dean, Rock Island High School

Mr. VanBlaricome has over 12 years of experience as a secondary school teacher in both Illinois and Iowa, complemented by five years of service as a police officer in the greater Washington, DC, Metro area. He holds two Master of Arts degrees, one in Educational Leadership and another in American History & Government. Mr. VanBlaricome is recognized for his professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic. He is consistently praised for his ability to foster positive relationships with scholars, staff, administrators, and parents.
