Lillis Receives Resident of the Year from South Rock Island Township

The South Rock Island Township awarded RIHS Athletic Director Michelle Lillis with a Resident of the Year Award! The recognition was created to honor Rock Island residents for the extra work they do to make a difference in the Township. Township Supervisor Grace Shirk and Town Clerk Nick Camlin presented the award to Lillis at the Annual Town Meeting on Tuesday, April 10. 
 
The nomination reads: "Michelle has been a teacher, a State Championship winning Track Coach, Cross Country Coach, Assistant Principal, and now the Athletic Director for Rock Island High School. She was recently inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame. Michelle is being recognized by the Township for the difference she has made throughout her career to the students of Rock Island and the Rock Island High School Athletic Department. She has revitalized the department and the spirit of Rock Island for all of us. Under her leadership they have done more things to get student involvement through promotion and social media. She has had a life-time of caring for the students of Rock Island High School and deserves to be recognized by South Rock Island Township for all she does for our residents."
