Rock Island High School and Thurgood Marshall Learning Center celebrated Homecoming all week.
It started Monday with spirit week where each day students and staff could dress up for a different theme.
Monday was pick your favorite decade, Tuesday was find a buddy and dress alike, Wednesday was jersey/sports day, Thursday was wear your class color, and Friday was wear your Red/Gold.

On Friday, September 16, the school held a pep assembly to get the student body pumped up for the homecoming game. There were performances by the choir, band, and cheerleaders.
There was a friendly competition of table surfing between students and staff. The staff took home a win. The Grand Marshalls for the homecoming parade were also announced. RIHS teachers Mrs. Greenwood and Mr. LaRoche were chosen by students to lead the parade.
Then the 2022 Homecoming Court was announced. Each candidate and their escort got to perform a dance in the middle of the stadium as their names were called. The Homecoming Court candidates were Nyitunga Jeanvier, Vix Dang, Dylan James, Chloe Cooper, Carter Cupp, Ella Hansen, Keller Mathews, Alexis Carroll, Bryce Lowry, Mari Churchill, DesMond Woodson, Kayla Rice, Terrmell Akers, Ava Dietz, John Rohwer, Denise Carr, Quonterrion Brooks, Mariyah McQueen, Law Dee, Quinci Bumgarner.

Thurgood Marshall Learning Center Homecoming King and Queen were introduced. Congratulations to Aleo Battie and Hamarionna Jackson!
The pep assembly ended with the crowing of the Homecoming Queen and King. Congratulations to Mariyah McQueen and Quonterrion Brooks! Ella Hanson and Law Dee were crowned as Princess and Prince.
Later that afternoon, Homecoming Court got to participate in the homecoming parade. They were joined by other Rocky sports teams and clubs, as well as community organizations and city leaders.
That night, students staff, and the community came out to cheer on the Rocks as they played Moline for the Homecoming game.
Saturday, September 17 was the homecoming dance which was held at Rocky Fieldhouse. This year's theme was Lights. Camera. Action! A big thank you to the Student Council and Student Council advisors who put a lot of work into making the week so much fun!
