Some members of the Rock Island High School Class of 2022 are warming up for the walk across the stage on June 4 at the TaxSlayer Center!
On Tuesday, May 24 a group of seniors who attended the Rock Island Center for Math & Science returned to their elementary alma mater for a "Grad Walk" through the halls - complete with Pomp and Circumstance music and cheers from 400+ students. Longtime Kindergarten Teacher Jacqueline Krone - who had some of those students in her classroom 12 years ago - took a few moments to tell the grads-to-be that the school was very proud of them and wished them nothing but the best for the future. "You are very much loved and will always be a part of this school."
The seniors relished in the adoration and many of elementary students commented that they can't wait to do the same thing when they are seniors at Rock Island High School. "It's a huge milestone and I want our students to remember RICMS, because RICMS will always remember them," said Principal Amy Nitzel.
