At the April 12 Board of Education meeting, Lorelei Andedo was named as Rock Island High School's new Student Intervention Administrator.
The Student Intervention Administrator (SIA) is responsible for assisting students with special academic, social, attendance, and behavioral needs to ensure that the students in grades 9-12 can succeed at RIHS. The SIA will design, execute and assess programs based on various factors. In addition, the SIA works collaboratively with the student, staff, and guardians to create tiered interventions that are most appropriate for each student to be successful.
Ms. Andedo has 24 years of experience as an elementary classroom teacher and itinerant gifted teacher. For the last seven years, she has been an Associate Principal at a Middle School. As an administrator, Ms. Andedo has created strong relationships with her staff, students, and parents. She implemented a curriculum to address all learners and has created a process to keep student’s parents involved with student character development. Her skills are to establish communication practices to guide staff, students, and parents to the root of a situation and focus on action steps to improve.
RIMSD#41 is excited to have her on our team. Welcome, Lorelei!
