Dear Rock Island-Milan School District Families,

We are aware of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) ruling today related to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) emergency rules and are reviewing its legal significance to the current Executive Order mandating indoor masking in schools and the related litigation out of Sangamon County.

Despite what has been reported, it is not clear that today’s JCAR ruling affects the enforceability of the current Executive Order.

We ask for your patience as we review this and expect clarity on these issues soon. Until that time, Rock Island-Milan School District #41will continue to require masking inside of our schools.
