RIHS Social Worker Wins Outstanding Field Instructor of the Year Award

Students nominate their field instructor who has provided high-quality mentoring, creative instruction, and field planning and models the empowerment method in practice.
 
For the 2019-2020 academic year, Lisa Bisom, MSW from Rock Island High School was awarded the Outstanding Field Instructor of the Year award. Please join us in congratulating her!
 
Lisa currently holds a Bachelors of Science in Community Health Education from Western Illinois University and a Masters of Social Work from The University of Iowa. Since earning her degrees, she has served in the capacity of a Behavior Health Specialist at Robert Young Health Center for 7 years and as a Social Worker in public schools for the past 14 years within K-12 buildings, with the majority of her time serving the ED/BD population of students. 
 
In addition to serving students within the public school settings, she has served as a Regional Representative for the Illinois Association of School Social Workers Association for 2 years and represented Rock Island Education Association in various capacities including building representative, Special Education Task Force member, and on the Executive Council member.
