The program is for incoming seniors, so students started the new program this past summer (July 2020).
Students spent this past summer working forty hours a week. Now that school is back in session, the students have classes in the morning then work in the afternoon. This is a paid apprenticeship so students are making money while gaining valuable experience.

Right now John Deere is the only company that is participating in the program but Rocky's Welding Instructor, Wade Weber hopes other companies will participate so the program can grow.
The goal of the program is for students to earn all of their welding competencies so that by the time they graduate from high school they will be able to be hired!
