Rocky Students Win Awards at Annual Art Invitational

Rock Island High School Art students received awards at the 42nd Annual High School Invitational at Quad City Arts in downtown Rock Island. 
 
Two Rock Island High School students won awards:
  • Angel Simpson won the Don Heggen Memorial Award for Excellence in Watercolor;
  • Whitney Flaugh won the Rock Island Art Guild Sculpture Award
Rock Island High School Graphic Arts teacher Bill Gustafson won 3rd place in the Teacher's Award division.
 
Other Rock Island High School student exhibiting artwork in the show include: Cylus Crayne, Vincent DeVore, Nils Empen, Riley Ellis, Joseph Ferguson, Andrew Forsterling, Liam Haskill, Htoo Htoo, Jeremiah Kirby, Clarissa Lopez, Callista Scott, Lucas Smith and Cameron White. 
 
The High School Invitational Exhibit will run through May 2. Quad City Arts is located at 1715 2nd Avenue, Rock Island.
