The Rock Island High School Student Council kicked off the Student Hunger Drive last week at Riverbend Food Bank and put the rest of the high school to a task: Fill Principal Whitaker's office with food. Principal Whitaker added an additional element to the challenge: Fill his office with food by Wednesday, October 3 and he would dress up as Captain America and greet the students Thursday morning.
"It was easy," said RIHS teacher and Student Council advisor Kelly Young. "People also gave cash donations, so we went shopping and bought food to fill Principal Whitaker's office as well."
